Pulp Fiction

This painting is about the Brit Awards in 1996 when Jarvis Cocker, the lead singer of Pulp invaded the stage during Michael Jackson’s ‘Earth Song’ performance. Jackson was surrounded by young children of all nationalities and a Rabbi as he was performing his song.  Jarvis decided to protest  because Jackson was under investigation for child abuse at the time.  Jarvis was arrested under a charge of assualt but this was later dropped. I have depicted Jarvis and Jackson as ‘George and the Dragon’.
