Lord Munro
This painting is one half of a commissioned diptych. The portrait was done in the style of Holbein and features items relating to the heritage, family and interests of person featured. The map in the background is of Scotland, the homeland of the sitter. He wears a fleur de lis brooch in his hat in reference to his wife who is French. The names of his daughters are written on the scroll in his hand while the family dog is at his side. His clothing features his family tartan and his kilt pin is re-fashioned to be the pattern on the drinking glass next to the bottle of his favourite brand of whisky. The musical instrument represents his love of rock music and, last but not least, the emblem worn on a chain around his neck is the crest of his beloved Maserati.
